Terns and wet feet

I'm standing in a field just off the beach with wet feet. The feet are wet due to having to cross a burn to get near to, but not too near, a tern colony. I wasn't interested in the nesting birds, that would be unlawful , but rather the birds flying to and from the nest site . Hopefully the wet feet will be...just had to put my coat on for a rain shower!

Really great morning with reasonable phone coverage... oh and now the rain has stopped. Just gets better.

Apart from bitching about the lack of WIFI/3G

Apart from this we are having a great break in Northumbria. The weather on the whole has been really great but mire importantly I have just had time to draw and draw ( this is no doubt due to lack of WIFI etc - god I am a contrary so and so!)

So today we are hitting the high life of Alnwick. Originally we were going to visit the castle & grounds but at £44 for the two of us this was a no no - it is no wonder the Duke of Northumberland is a rich man. So we are busying ourselves in a lovely coffee shop in the town with, you guessed it, good WIFI connections.

On and off WIFI

My god what a moaning old fart I am but this wifi connection is up and down more often than a whores draws. One moment I'm on line then I'm not. What a soft southerner I am!

Phillip Brooks - 60 Degrees North (tags: iPhone, iphoneography, RPS, Phillip Brooks))

I have just spent an interesting afternoon listening to a talk by Phillip Brooks talking about his long term project 60 degrees north. During the session I couldn't help myself but I just had to try out my new app Wordfoto and this is the result. I think it is quite interesting and this shows great promise as another edition to the iPhone armoury. The iPhone 4 really boosts the photographic options although there is still something to be said for the poor quality of the 3G.

FaceTime is more like nostril examination time.

Been playing around with FaceTime and I have to say I am underwhelmed. I am sure there are many people out there who really like using this but I don't think I will be one of them. Not sure looking up people's nostrils is my ideas of holding a meaningful conversation . I'm on line at:

Hipstamatic and Van Gogh

Day 2 of the iPhone 4 era and I have bought Hipstamatic. I'm still trying to get grips with this product and I'm to.d that you can get extra filter packs but I have still to workout how to do this. Still it does look like a bit of fun. So for Van Gogh. At my final art session at Melton I want to produce a portrait inspired by Van Gogh. This is really hard so I though I would start to practice this before next Monday - this is my first attempt. As you can see I still have a lot of work to do! But it is an intestine challenge.
