The same photograph - different crop - which one is best? I have no idea each has there attractions. The closer crop above has a tightness which is always to be welcome. It has impact and draws the eye much more deliberately towards the seed head. The portrait shot has different effect. Here the emphasis is on the tallness of the plant. It seems to become a strange, triffid, creature matching across the landscape. We are all doomed.
I would like to say that each photograph was a deliberate act on my part. The photograph below was the result of much experimentation until I got it right. I then reduced the size of the photoshop window and suddenly I had the photograph above - an Alexander Fleming moment?
